School Closure Week #4 (4/13-4/17)

School Closure Week #4 (April 13 -April 17)

Hello Students & Parents,

I hope that you all had a nice weekend and had a chance to get outside and enjoy the weather.

Last week went very well as we are getting used to virtual learning. The Zoom meetings also went very well and there were zero incidents now that I have implemented the waiting room the first five minutes. In case you missed it – in order to enter Zoom you MUST be on time. I individually admit students for the first five minutes and then the “door” is closed. If you miss Zoom for your class period, you may join any other class period that is the same class. For example, I have three sections of Algebra 2 and you may join any of them. This gives you 6 opportunities per week to join the Algebra 2 Zoom and get your questions answered.

Extra credit will be offered every week fourth quarter. However, extra credit can ONLY be earned for the week once all the required assignments for the week have been submitted. Required assignments can be turned in late, but extra credit cannot be turned in late.

I have uploaded the grades from Week #2 (3/30 – 4/30) into the portal. Everyone should go into the portal and check for accuracy. If you see an error, please do not panic – just contact me. This is the reason that I am asking everyone to use Remind to submit their assignments – I simply scroll back in our conversation and I can see all of the assignments that you submitted and when you submitted them. This week, Week #4 (4/13-4/17), when I receive an assignment through email, I will ask you to resubmit through Remind. Last week I had said that I would input an “I” into the gradebook for missing assignments, but teachers were asked to put “M” for missing instead by administration. This makes much more sense to me. Grades for Week #3 will be uploaded to the portal either 4/13 or 4/14.

I thank all of you for being patient. This has been a sharp learning curve for students and teachers, I think we have all adapted quite well. I miss all of you and I hope that you are doing well.

Sincerely,
Mrs. W
